The Stock Center now has its own FAQ page, answering questions about orders and providing short protocols for people new to Dictyostelium research. The page is currently linked from the Stock Center Order page and soon to be found in the Stock Center drop-down.

It is our pleasure to introduce our new software engineer, Yogesh Pandit. Yogesh has recently obtained a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from Indiana University. He will be working with Siddhartha Basu on our software team.

We are mourning the sudden passing of our dear colleague Harry MacWilliams. We will remember Harry as a brilliant scientist, an avid contributor to dictyBase, and a good friend. We will greatly miss him!

We are grateful to Gad Shaulsky, Blaz Zupan, and their labs to make their RNA sequence data available through our beta RNAseq browser. Click on the RNAseq track to obtain links to citations and the full data download. The browser track represents the compiled transcriptional profiles of 7 time points during the D. discoideum development. The data is available under 'Tools' from the blue top bar from every dictyBase page.

We are pleased to announce that we have now finished first-pass gene model curation, which resulted in 12,257 curated protein coding genes, and 649 annotated pseudogenes.
